1. Are tummy tucks painful?

All surgeries are painful! However, having done both breast augmentation and tummy tuck in patients for mommy makeover, all patients have told me the breast augmentation is more painful.


2. Will weight gain after a tummy tuck affect the results?

If a patient loses a dramatic amount of weight (over 20 pounds) the skin may sag again.


3. Can you explain what a partial abdominoplasty is?

You are referring to a mini-tummy tuck. A mini-tummy tuck is indicated for patients who have loose skin below the belly button in the central portion of the abdominal area. The incision is as long as or slightly longer than a C-section scar.


4. Will future pregnancy affect the results of a tummy tuck?

There is a high chance the skin will stretch and sag again.


5. Can stretch marks be removed with a tummy tuck?

If the stretch marks are at or below the belly button, in most patients all the stretch marks can be removed.


6. How long before I can return to my normal activities?

Patient must refrain from exercise for 4-6 weeks.
