What is a tummy tuck?
A tummy tuck is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the abdominal region. It is most beneficial when there is more excess skin than excess fat. A football-shaped incision is made along the lower abdomen and up to the belly button. In most cases, stretch marks below the belly-button can be removed, stretch-marks above the belly-button cannot be removed with this procedure. In most cases, as well, the abdominal muscles can be tightened to decrease the lower abdominal pooch that is common in women that have had children.

Yes, there will be a scar. That is the trade-off. For the vast majority of women, the scar is very unobtrusive, it is very low on the abdomen, hidden nicely even with low-cut clothing, it is narrow and fades nicely with time.
